The Mom Challenge

http://liveafabulesslife.blogspot.com/p/mom-challenge.html

I found this challenge very interesting. I am on week 2 and it is slow down. As far as I know anyone can join at anytime.

On this weeks challenge (slow down) she had a poem and I really liked it and wanted to share with everyone.

slow down mummy, there is no need to rush,
slow down mummy, what is all the fuss?
slow down mummy, make yourself a cup tea.
slow down mummy, come spend some time with me.
slow down mummy, let's pull boots on for a walk,
let's kick at piles of leaves, and smile and laugh and talk.
slow down mummy, you look ever so tired,
come sit and snuggle under the duvet, and rest with me a while.
slow down mummy, those dirty dishes can wait,
slow down mummy, let's have some fun - bake a cake!
slow down mummy, I know you work a lot,
but sometimes mummy, it's nice when you just stop.
sit with us a minute,
and listen to our day,
spend a cherished moment,
because our childhood won't stay!

Valentines Boxes

Well its that time of the year again. With all three kids wanting to do there boxes different. Oh what fun it is to watch them.

I'm not real sure what Shema was doing with his box or should I say I don't no what the theme was but he had lots of fun making it.

I think Tayinna was thinking about love.

Then there is Miya, can't make it easy on anyone, it has to be different. LOL So she was hoping to make a alligator but we told her it looked more like a turtle, but no we were wrong.

All and all the kids had fun making them taking them to school and at there party. Another year done!

Pictures

The girls wanted to take some pictures with me so they took turns taking them. I don't like my picture taken but I need to let them do this because I'm usually the one behind the camera.
Love you guys!

Valentines/Pinterest

I have never been a big decorator for all the holidays, I would make something buy something and maybe next year get it out. The girls are at a age where they like doing all this and seeing it, so I spent a little more time this year to make them smile.

As you can tell from the title I made something I seen on Pinterest and after I'm done useing it where it is I'm going to put it in the girls bedroom window. I hope they will like it.

I used paper, thread and runner tape to make everything. There is a front and back to everything to. It was very easy but took allot of time because I had to cut all the hearts out myself. The idea came from dottieangel.blogspot.com .

Miya did a awsome job. Her decorations start at the window (above pic.) and go around to the next window. Thank you Miya

Valentines/Pinterest

My day started with I need to get the Christmas decorations in the atic ( the atic opening is in my computer/craft room). It never happened tho. So I got out some of the craft goodies I needed to make a heart wreath.

  • double sided scrapbook paper (couldn't find) so I settled with onesided
  • stapler
  • elmers glue
  • paper cutter
Sounds easy right.
I cut 8 1 inch strips (length 12 inches), folded them in haft, then put the open ends together to form a heart and stapled them (stapler broke). They are so cute (got stapler working so so, but working). I started glueing them together, got them all done and I look at it and thought what is going on. The glue made the paper wet and made it fold were the glue was. I just looked at it like oh my.
  • adhesive tabs
So NOW I have to start over with a broken stapler. I cut all the strips, got the stapler to work and thought ok now get the adhesive. Wrong again the adhisive wasn't strong enough to with stand being held up 5 secs.
  • raffia
  • hole puncher
So I punched holes and tied them together.

for something I thought would be a fast project ened up taking a little longer.

Valentines/Pinterest

Well I'm hook on Pinterest thanks to Shawna at What I Do When I Play. She gets me in so much trouble. How you ask... she is always showing me new things to do on the computer.

My boards are starting to fill up on Pinterest and I'm finding lots of neat things to do on there. So I picked my first project and that was hearts.

I wanted to make the kids something little for Valentines Day.

These hearts are for the kids still living at home. I figured the girls can wrap them around a hair clip and shema can use his as a book marker. I'm going to give them to them in the morning before school.

Now the older kids I'm going to make them a Valentines card and one crochet heart. Then I will mail it to them. I don't no what the boys will think about them, but I know I'm sending with love.

Pattern for these hearts came from Planet M Files

2011-2012

I never write a early letter but there is somethings that I just need to say about 2011.

I was laid off in 2011 and the reason is not known why for sure. I wrote a note to another full time employ and work got upset with it. I do not like jobs thru the temp serves if this is the way they treat there emploies. How can people work on job skills, how can you learn new jobs and push people away. I will never understand. So after 2 years of work all I can say is it was nice meeting and learning how to do lots of different jobs.
A plus side to not working second shift I get to see my kids. Oh my I had my work cut out for me. Alan is not the father that knows how to deal with all the running of the house and kids. I have to laugh because he acted like it was no big deal until he had to do it.
We have been having some issues with Tayinna, I'm hoping with extra help this will work out. It is so sad to have a child that u just can't understand, relate with, and your feelings are in a ball. There is so  much that we can do if she would just let us help her and help herself. With Tayinna not understanding it has made things hard for the other 2 kids to. We are working hard to figure this all out together as a family.
Life has its up and downs and right now we are on the down side, but I know things will get better. I know there will be a smile on my families faces today and I know we love each other.
I know today is Jan. 2 2012 and I know I'm a day late, but starting today I'm going to do my best to keep my home a safe and happy one.

Whats is going to happen in my life in 2012

Well I could do the I'm going to lose weight but we all no that will not happen, at least the amount that i would really like to lose.
I could say I'm going to scrapbook 100 pages, lol we all know I don't have the time, patients, or skill to do this.

Well?

  1. Its December, you got your Christmas shopping done? started?
  2. Christmas cards sent out?
  3. Any presents wrapped?
  4. Do you know what your buying for everyone?
Isn't the holidays so much fun, the list can keep going and going. I use to be a person that just loved Christmas, any more I could live without all the drama that goes with it. Wrong color mom, wrong size, she wanted this I didn't etc...

Well my kids got a rude eye opener coming. They are not getting allot for Christmas! With not working and the cost of everything else it will be a year to be thankful we are together and a warm roof over are heads,. Don't get me wrong they are getting gifts, but it is going to be what they need mostly.

I have some of my shopping done cyber Monday made that allot easier, and one trip to the mall and I will be done. I have not wrapped anything except the things I had to mail. I sent a few cards out and I am thinking about sitting down and making a couple more. I also need to get out the decorations. I'm not doing the whole house, but I will put a tree up in most of the rooms.

Don't get stressed out its not worth it. Just go with the flow and don't over do it.

Have fun watching the Christmas movies, I know I am.

Merry Christmas

Love Ya All
