Make Over

Here I am and again I need to make some changes and I am starting with a new blog look. Do you ever think that really makes people come to your blog? I don't but it makes me feel good inside when I think of what we are given to look at around us everyday.

Second things is I was told I am type 2 diabetic. So this means I need to eat better, exercise and be healthier then I have ever been so I don't have to give myself any injections.  I did find a online friend and with support from other family and friends to help me start moving again. With it being winter and not working I need the push even more.

The third thing I really need to get things put together around my house. With 3 kids you would think I would have control but I am finding it is getting harder and harder to get them moving. Help me someone please ( take me away). The teen age years have hit and we all know what that can be like.

And now the last thing is I would like to get creative again. Maybe even get back to making homemade gifts. We will see what happens won't we. Oh and I want to keep reading  I love a good book.

So I am ready to start tomorrow is a new day and it will be day one.

Have a Great Day/Night and smile at someone today/ tomorrow.

Hugs

Valentines/Pinterest

My day started with I need to get the Christmas decorations in the atic ( the atic opening is in my computer/craft room). It never happened tho. So I got out some of the craft goodies I needed to make a heart wreath.

  • double sided scrapbook paper (couldn't find) so I settled with onesided
  • stapler
  • elmers glue
  • paper cutter
Sounds easy right.
I cut 8 1 inch strips (length 12 inches), folded them in haft, then put the open ends together to form a heart and stapled them (stapler broke). They are so cute (got stapler working so so, but working). I started glueing them together, got them all done and I look at it and thought what is going on. The glue made the paper wet and made it fold were the glue was. I just looked at it like oh my.
  • adhesive tabs
So NOW I have to start over with a broken stapler. I cut all the strips, got the stapler to work and thought ok now get the adhesive. Wrong again the adhisive wasn't strong enough to with stand being held up 5 secs.
  • raffia
  • hole puncher
So I punched holes and tied them together.

for something I thought would be a fast project ened up taking a little longer.

Valentines/Pinterest

Well I'm hook on Pinterest thanks to Shawna at What I Do When I Play. She gets me in so much trouble. How you ask... she is always showing me new things to do on the computer.

My boards are starting to fill up on Pinterest and I'm finding lots of neat things to do on there. So I picked my first project and that was hearts.

I wanted to make the kids something little for Valentines Day.

These hearts are for the kids still living at home. I figured the girls can wrap them around a hair clip and shema can use his as a book marker. I'm going to give them to them in the morning before school.

Now the older kids I'm going to make them a Valentines card and one crochet heart. Then I will mail it to them. I don't no what the boys will think about them, but I know I'm sending with love.

Pattern for these hearts came from Planet M Files

Christmas is coming

and what fun stuff there is to do. Yes I still have my cleaning and it is not on
my fun list, but someone has to do it.

This year I have been making some gifts and cards.

My cards are made from odds and ends I have in my stash. I didn't go buy anything not even the stamps I bought them earlier in the year because I new I wouldn't have the money to get them now. The nice thing is some of the materials were gifts from some very special friends.

Material:
Christmas cards and envelopes
stamp- front of card Tis The Season- inside To Be Jolly
winter wonderland embossing powder
sizzix cut outs
